Reliance to Double Investment in Gujarat: Ambani

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd., announced on January 11, 2026 that his company will double its investment in Gujarat over the next five years. Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, he said Reliance had invested about ₹3.5 lakh crore in the state in the past five years and now plans to increase this to ₹7 lakh crore.

Focus Areas of New Investment

Ambani said the expanded investment will support several key sectors, including clean energy, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure and social development. He highlighted plans for India’s largest AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar and a new “people-first” AI platform designed to be accessible in local languages and on personal devices.

Praise for Leadership and Growth

While outlining the investment, Ambani praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying it has strengthened India’s confidence amid global uncertainty. He described Gujarat as central to Reliance’s identity and growth ambitions.

The announcement is seen as a significant boost for Gujarat’s economy and a sign of strong corporate confidence in the state’s business environment.
