Reliance JV To Build $11 Billion AI Data Hub In Vizag

Reliance Industries’ joint venture with Brookfield Corporation and Digital Realty, operating as Digital Connexion, has announced a $11 billion investment to build a large AI-focused data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be developed over five years and is expected to significantly boost India’s AI infrastructure capacity.

1 GW AI Data Campus Planned

The new campus will spread across roughly 400 acres and aims to deliver 1 gigawatt of AI-native data capacity. The facility will support high-performance computing and advanced artificial intelligence workloads, including high-density racks, redundant power systems, advanced cooling, and renewable-energy integration.

Growing India’s AI And Cloud Ecosystem

The investment aligns with India’s rapidly expanding data-centre market. Analysts expect the nation’s overall data-centre capacity to triple by 2030, driven by increased cloud adoption, rising AI workloads and enterprise digital transformation. The Vizag project is positioned to serve global hyperscalers, cloud companies and large enterprises seeking high-performance compute environments.

Strategic Boost For Andhra Pradesh

Officials believe the project will bring major economic benefits to the region, including job creation, technology partnerships and new opportunities for AI-driven industries. The development also strengthens India’s ambition to become a global hub for AI infrastructure and digital innovation.
