Ramiz Raja Updates on Imran Khan’s Health

Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has shared an update on the condition of former Pakistan Prime Minister and cricket legend Imran Khan, saying he is enduring a difficult period in prison but is physically holding up. Raja’s comments come amid growing concern over Khan’s health and demands for proper medical care.

Ramiz Raja Gives Update on Imran Khan

Speaking during a recent cricket podcast, Raja said Imran Khan is currently in isolation and has spent nearly three years behind bars. Asked about Khan’s physical condition, Raja said there had been an issue with his eye about a week earlier but indicated that the problem appeared to have been addressed.

Raja said Khan was otherwise holding up and described him as someone with a strong temperament. His comments provide a rare update from a former teammate and Pakistan cricket figure who has known Khan for several decades.

Concerns Over Imran Khan’s Health

The latest remarks come amid continuing concerns about Khan’s medical condition and treatment while in custody. Reports of problems affecting his vision have added to calls for an independent assessment of his health.

Khan, 73, has remained in prison since 2023 after being convicted in several legal cases. He has denied wrongdoing and maintained that the cases against him are politically motivated.

Former Captains Seek Medical Care

The concerns have also prompted 21 former international cricket captains from nine countries to appeal to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for humane treatment and proper medical care for Khan.

The former players have called for a court-directed medical board, including Khan’s personal doctors, to complete an independent assessment. They have also urged authorities to ensure regular family visits and provide any treatment recommended by the medical evaluation without delay.
