Rajnath Singh: Operation Sindoor Struck Only Those Who Killed Innocents
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has firmly defended India’s military action under Operation Sindoor, stating that the strikes were aimed solely at those responsible for killing innocent civilians. In his first public remarks following the operation, Singh emphasized that the Indian Armed Forces acted with precision, restraint, and moral clarity.
Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Singh stated, “We only targeted those who killed innocent people.” He praised the professionalism and courage of the Indian Army and raised the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” in a tribute to the forces involved in the operation.
The statement comes as India continues to justify Operation Sindoor on both moral and legal grounds. The strikes, carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, targeted nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These facilities, according to the Indian defence establishment, were directly linked to Pakistan-based terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Precision With Purpose
Operation Sindoor has been widely described by Indian officials as a focused counter-terrorism mission designed to avoid civilian and military collateral damage. Defence Minister Singh’s comments reinforce this narrative, highlighting that the operation was not an act of aggression, but one of justice and national self-defense.
Sources within the defence ministry have stated that the intelligence behind the strikes was carefully verified and that the targets had a long history of facilitating cross-border attacks. The operation reportedly neutralized critical launchpads, training facilities, and logistic nodes used by terror groups.
A Message to Terror Sponsors
Rajnath Singh’s remarks also serve as a direct warning to those supporting terrorism from across the border. By making it clear that only those responsible for acts of terror were targeted, India is sending a message that its military actions are not driven by vengeance, but by the principle of justice.
The Defence Minister’s public praise for the armed forces and his assertion of moral clarity aim to rally domestic unity while also strengthening India’s position on the global diplomatic stage.
