Rahul Gandhi Claims EC Allowed Karnataka Cheating

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Election Commission of permitting electoral malpractice in a Karnataka constituency. Addressing a public event, he declared that the Congress party has “100 percent proof” of voter list manipulation and warned that the party will not allow the poll body to escape accountability.

Allegations of Voter List Manipulation

Gandhi claimed that during a recent voter roll revision in a Bengaluru constituency, thousands of suspicious names were added. He pointed to the inclusion of individuals aged 45, 50, 60, and even 65 as “new voters,” calling it a clear sign of fake entries or fraudulent adjustments. According to him, these anomalies were discovered by party workers who analyzed the updated rolls.

Sharp Criticism of Election Commission

Accusing the Election Commission of ignoring complaints, Gandhi said the body is not fulfilling its constitutional duty. He warned the Commission that the Congress party would take all necessary steps to expose and challenge such irregularities. “We are going to come for you,” he stated, suggesting possible legal or political action if the EC does not respond.

Broader Implications

Rahul Gandhi also connected the issue to similar concerns raised about the Special Summary Revision process in Bihar, saying these patterns are part of a wider attempt to undermine electoral integrity. He urged the Commission to act transparently and restore public trust in the democratic process.

Party’s Next Steps

The Congress party is expected to release detailed evidence in the coming days and may approach the judiciary for further intervention. The controversy has added pressure on the EC to investigate and clarify the process behind the disputed voter entries.
