Qatar Arrests 10 Suspects Linked To IRGC
Qatar has arrested 10 individuals suspected of having links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to a statement released through the country’s state news agency. Authorities said the suspects were part of two separate cells allegedly operating on behalf of the Iranian military organization within the country.
Qatar Security Forces Dismantle Suspected IRGC Cells
Qatari authorities said the arrests were carried out as part of a security operation targeting individuals believed to be working for the IRGC. According to official statements, the suspects were organized into two operational cells that were allegedly conducting intelligence and sabotage-related activities.
Security officials stated that the individuals were detained after investigators identified coordinated activities connected to sensitive security locations inside Qatar. Authorities said the operation was aimed at preventing potential threats to national security.
Suspects Accused Of Spying On Military Installations
According to officials, seven of the arrested individuals were allegedly tasked with gathering intelligence on Qatar’s military installations and strategic infrastructure. Investigators reportedly found information related to the locations and coordinates of sensitive facilities during searches linked to the operation.
Authorities said communication devices and technological equipment were also recovered from the suspects. Officials indicated that the material was believed to have been used to collect and transmit information about critical infrastructure and security facilities.
Drone Training And Alleged Sabotage Plans
The remaining three suspects were reportedly assigned to carry out sabotage operations. Authorities said these individuals had received training in the use of drones and were allegedly preparing for potential disruptive activities.
Officials said the suspects were found in possession of equipment that could be used to carry out reconnaissance or sabotage operations. Investigations are ongoing as Qatari authorities examine the extent of the alleged network and its potential links to the IRGC.
