PTI Flags Serious Eye Condition of Imran Khan
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has raised concerns over the health of its founder Imran Khan, saying he is suffering from a serious eye condition while in jail and needs immediate medical attention.
Party Seeks Urgent Medical Care
PTI leaders said Khan has developed a retinal condition affecting his right eye, warning that delays in specialised treatment could lead to permanent vision loss. The party demanded that he be shifted to a specialised hospital and allowed access to senior medical specialists, stating that prison facilities are not equipped to handle the condition.
Calls for Court Intervention
The party has also urged the judiciary to take up pending petitions related to Khan’s medical treatment. PTI said repeated requests for proper medical examinations and family access have not been adequately addressed.
Detention and Health Concerns
Imran Khan has been lodged at Adiala Jail since August 2023 following convictions in multiple cases. His health has been a recurring point of contention, with PTI alleging inadequate medical care and authorities maintaining that treatment is being provided as per jail rules.
