Prime Minister Inaugurates Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line and Vande Bharat Train

On August 10, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bengaluru to inaugurate two major transport projects: the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro and a section of the Vande Bharat regional train service.

Yellow Line Metro Boosts City Transport

The newly opened Yellow Line connects northern and southern parts of Bengaluru, providing fast and efficient metro travel. This addition helps reduce traffic congestion, ensures smoother commutes, and supports Bengaluru’s growing urban demand.

Vande Bharat Regional Rail Links Surrounding Areas

Simultaneously, a Vande Bharat train service began operating on a regional rail corridor, offering commuters a comfortable, high-speed travel option between Bengaluru and nearby towns. This modern train enhances connectivity and makes daily travel quicker and more pleasant.

A Message of Progress and Convenience

In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s focus on advancing infrastructure to boost urban mobility and regional integration. He said these projects not only improve travel but also reflect India’s move toward modern, sustainable transport.

Impact on Daily Life

The dual launch promises real benefits to Bangaloreans and the region’s residents. Quicker metro rides, reduced road traffic, and efficient regional rail service are expected to save travel time, lower pollution, and enhance the quality of everyday life.
