President Murmu To Address Odisha Assembly In Historic First

President Droupadi Murmu will become the first sitting President of India to address the Odisha Legislative Assembly on November 27, 2025. The address will mark the beginning of the Assembly’s winter session and is considered a milestone in the state’s legislative history.

Murmu Returns To Her Former Workplace

President Murmu previously served as an MLA from the Rairangpur constituency in Mayurbhanj district during the 2000 and 2004 terms. She also held ministerial roles in the Odisha government. During her visit, she is expected to see Room No. 11, the chamber she used during her tenure as an MLA.

Schedule And Security Measures

Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon and proceed to Raj Bhavan before heading to the Assembly by around 4:20 pm. Her address is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm. The Assembly premises have been prepared for the occasion, with a multi-layered security arrangement in place.
