Prashant Kishor to Stay Off Ballot in Bihar Elections
Political strategist Prashant Kishor has announced he will not contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He said he prefers to remain behind the scenes and focus on shaping campaign strategies.
Ambitious Seat Goal
Despite not running, Kishor affirmed that his party, Jan Suraaj, aims to contest all 243 seats in Bihar, with a target of winning 150 seats. He claimed this goal is realistic given ground support and feedback from local cadres.
Strategy and Role
Kishor said his role would be to guide candidate selection, campaign messaging, and alliance management. He expressed confidence in his party’s ability to mobilise regional leaders and grassroots workers.
The move to not contest is in line with Kishor’s past practice of operating as a strategist rather than a politician. He has led several successful election campaigns in multiple states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Goa.
