PM to Flag Off Four New Vande Bharat Trains in Varanasi
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is scheduled to visit his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on 8 November 2025, where he will inaugurate four new Vande Bharat Express trains. The launches form part of the government’s push to expand India’s modern rail network and enhance connectivity across regions.
New Routes and Regional Benefits
The trains will run on the following routes:
- Banaras (Varanasi)–Khajuraho,
- Lucknow–Saharanpur,
- Firozpur–Delhi, and
- Ernakulam–Bengaluru.
These trains are expected to reduce travel time significantly, promote tourism, and strengthen economic links between cultural hubs and metropolitan centres. They also bring the total number of Vande Bharat services in India to 164.
Infrastructure & Political Significance
The inauguration is being held at Banaras Railway Station, and aligns with the government’s broader aim of delivering world-class rail services under the “Make in India” initiative. Local authorities in Varanasi are coordinating preparations for the event, and the Prime Minister’s visit carries symbolic weight given his representation of the constituency.
