PM Praises Youth for Drone Success in Mars-Like Test
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded a group of young innovators from Pune after they achieved a breakthrough in a drone challenge designed to simulate Martian conditions. The team’s drone had repeatedly crashed during earlier trials before finally completing a successful, stable flight.
Challenge Simulated Conditions Without GPS
The ISRO-supported competition required drones to operate without GPS and rely only on onboard cameras and navigation software. The setup was intended to mirror constraints expected during future missions to Mars or other planetary bodies. The successful flight was noted for its stability and precision under low-visibility, obstacle-rich conditions.
PM Modi Links Breakthrough to India’s Space Momentum
In his remarks, the Prime Minister compared the team’s persistence to ISRO’s own learning curve during missions like Chandrayaan-3. He said the achievement reflects India’s rising confidence in space technology and showcases the power of young innovators driving the next phase of national progress.
Boost for Private Space Start-Ups
The Prime Minister also highlighted recent developments in India’s private space ecosystem, including new facilities for orbital-class rockets. He said these advances, supported by youth-led innovation, will play a major role in shaping India’s future in science and technology.
