PM Modi Warns Pakistan of Swift Response With BrahMos

Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong warning to Pakistan during his address in Varanasi, declaring that any future act of terrorism would be met with powerful retaliation using BrahMos missiles manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. He said that even the mention of the missile’s name makes Pakistan uneasy.

BrahMos Missiles to Be Made in Lucknow

Modi announced that BrahMos missiles will now be manufactured in a new facility in Lucknow. The project is part of the government’s push to expand India’s domestic defense production under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He noted that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a significant hub for defense manufacturing.

Reference to Recent Anti-Terror Operation

The Prime Minister’s remarks follow the recent Operation Sindoor, a military response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Modi credited indigenous weapons and drones for the success of the operation and said India is now capable of delivering precision strikes without external dependence.

Opposition Criticized for Undermining Forces

In his speech, Modi criticized opposition parties for allegedly questioning the military operation and attempting to downplay its significance. He defended the armed forces’ actions and said the country now stands more confident and self-reliant in defense matters than ever before.

Strategic Signal and Public Appeal

Modi said missiles produced in India, particularly those made in UP, will act as a deterrent to terrorism and foreign aggression. He encouraged citizens to adopt a “vocal for local” mindset to strengthen India’s economy and strategic capabilities.

Defense Sector Gaining Ground in UP

The BrahMos facility in Lucknow is one of several defense investments in the state. Modi said this development not only enhances India’s military power but also brings job opportunities and technological growth to the region.
