PM Modi Urges Census 2027 Participation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to actively participate in Census 2027, calling it an important national exercise for planning, development and welfare delivery.

PM Modi Appeals For Digital Census 2027

Speaking during the 133rd episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi said the Census helps the government understand people’s needs more accurately and prepare better policies for the future.

He said citizens should take part in the process with confidence and support officials involved in the house listing and population enumeration work. Census 2027 will be India’s first digital Census, marking a major shift in how demographic data is collected.

Data Security Assured In Census Process

PM Modi assured citizens that all information shared during the Census will remain secure, confidential and protected. His remarks came amid wider public concerns about digital data privacy and the handling of personal information.

The government is expected to use digital tools to make the process faster, more transparent and easier to manage, while also maintaining safeguards for sensitive citizen data.

Census Data Key For National Planning

The Census plays a crucial role in policy planning, welfare schemes, infrastructure development, urban planning and resource allocation. Accurate population data helps governments identify gaps in housing, education, healthcare, employment and public services.

PM Modi said public participation is essential to make the exercise successful. He also linked the broader message to national development, saying citizen cooperation strengthens India’s ability to plan better and move toward a developed future.
