PM Modi To Visit Manipur First Time Since Unrest
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Manipur on September 13, 2025, the first time he returns to the state since ethnic violence broke out in May 2023. The visit begins in Churachandpur and later moves to Imphal.
Projects To Be Laid And Inaugurated
In Churachandpur, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for development projects worth around ₹7,300 crore. In Imphal, he will inaugurate projects valued at approximately ₹1,200 crore.
Purpose Of Visit
Modi will meet people displaced by the unrest between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The visit is aimed at peace, relief, and restoring normalcy.
Security And Community Signals
Churachandpur, being a hill district dominated by Kukis, and Imphal, a Meitei majority area, are both included to signal balanced attention to affected communities. Security arrangements are being tightened in both areas ahead of the visit.
