PM Modi to Inaugurate Tata Complex for C-295 Aircraft Production in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Monday to inaugurate the Tata Aircraft Complex for manufacturing C-295 military aircraft.
The facility, developed by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), is a milestone as it will be the first private sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft in India. This event will also see the presence of Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, underscoring the international collaboration between India and Spain on the project.
Tata Advanced Systems to Lead Production
Under the C-295 programme, 56 aircraft will be built, with 16 delivered by Airbus from Spain and the remaining 40 to be manufactured in India by Tata Advanced Systems. The facility will oversee the complete process from manufacturing to assembly, testing, qualification, and maintenance. Several public sector units like Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Dynamics Ltd., along with private MSMEs, are also contributing to the programme.
Inauguration of Multiple Development Projects
Along with inaugurating the Tata Aircraft Complex, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for several key development projects across Gujarat, worth over Rs 4,800 crores. Projects include road infrastructure developments, water supply schemes, and the Bhuj-Naliya Rail Gauge Conversion Project, aimed at boosting socio-economic growth in various districts.
PM Modi’s visit will conclude with the inauguration of tourism-related initiatives, including transforming the Karli Recharge Reservoir into a sustainable eco-tourism destination.
