PM Modi to Inaugurate Key Projects in Maharashtra Worth ₹56,100 Crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on October 5, 2024, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a series of major projects worth over ₹56,100 crore. The projects, which span sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, urban mobility, and infrastructure, will be launched in Washim and Thane.
PM in Washim: Empowering Farmers and Honoring Heritage
The Prime Minister will start his visit in Washim by performing Darshan at the Jagdamba Mata Temple, Poharadevi, and paying tribute to Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj. At around 11:30 AM, he will inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, which celebrates the rich heritage of the Banjara community.
In line with his focus on empowering farmers, PM Modi will launch several initiatives worth ₹23,300 crore related to the agricultural sector. A key highlight will be the disbursement of the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, worth ₹20,000 crore, benefiting 9.4 crore farmers across the country. Additionally, the 5th installment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana will also be released.
The Prime Minister will dedicate over 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). He will also unveil the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving cattle breeding.
PM in Thane: Boosting Urban Mobility and Infrastructure
Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Thane, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for urban mobility projects worth over ₹32,800 crore. A key project is the inauguration of the BKC-Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line-3, which is expected to serve 12 lakh passengers daily once fully operational.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, worth ₹12,200 crore, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar, Thane, worth ₹3,310 crore. Additionally, the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project and the construction of a new Thane Municipal Corporation building will also be initiated.
These projects are aimed at improving urban connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and promoting sustainable infrastructure development in Maharashtra.
