PM Modi Thanks Singapore for Backing India’s Anti-Terror Fight

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong for offering condolences and support following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. He emphasized that both nations share common concerns about terrorism and should respond together.

Shared Concerns on Terrorism

At a bilateral meeting, Modi stated that it is the responsibility of all humanitarian countries to unite against terrorism. He thanked Wong and the Government of Singapore for their solidarity and support in India’s fight against terror following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 civilian lives.

Strengthening Strategic Ties

Modi described India–Singapore relations as a “partnership with purpose,” extending beyond traditional diplomacy. He highlighted expanding cooperation in emerging areas such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence during the discussions.

Economic and Security Cooperation

The two leaders also inaugurated Phase-II of the PSA Mumbai Container Terminal, increasing its handling capacity to 4.8 million TEUs. The talks included agreements on green and digital shipping corridors, civil aviation, space, skill development, and digital currency innovation, reflecting a growing strategic and economic alignment between India and Singapore.
