PM Modi Targets JMM Government, Vows BJP’s Return in Jharkhand
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp critique against the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government at a rally in Garhwa, Jharkhand, accusing it of hindering the state’s progress and neglecting development.
Addressing BJP supporters, PM Modi expressed confidence that the upcoming Assembly elections would mark the end of the Hemant Soren administration, paving the way for a “double-engine” BJP government focused on transforming Jharkhand.
“Roti, Beti, and Maati Ki Pukaar” – A Call for Change
Highlighting the importance of grassroots mobilization, PM Modi called on BJP volunteers to strengthen the party’s presence across all levels, particularly at the booth level, to secure a decisive victory. He emphasized the rallying cry of “roti, beti, and maati ki pukaar,” symbolizing people’s demand for food security, respect for women, and pride in their land.
BJP’s Vision for Jharkhand’s Future
Outlining the next two decades as pivotal for Jharkhand and India’s growth, PM Modi stated that the state would play a significant role in realizing the goal of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He lauded BJP’s past efforts to establish Jharkhand as a separate state, with the aim of accelerating its development and securing prosperity for its people.
Calling the BJP’s manifesto, or Sankalp Patra, a commitment to the welfare of Jharkhand’s citizens, he emphasized its focus on women’s security and welfare. PM Modi introduced proposals such as the Gogo Didi Yojana, which promises a monthly stipend of ₹2,100 for women, and a scheme offering gas cylinders at ₹500, akin to the success of the Ujjwala Yojana.
Criticism of JMM and the INDIA Bloc
PM Modi didn’t shy away from attacking the INDIA bloc, accusing JMM, Congress, and other coalition partners of making empty promises. “BJP has a track record of fulfilling its guarantees,” he said, contrasting it with what he described as false assurances from the opposition. He accused the JMM government of deliberately stalling development projects and failing to meet people’s needs.
Amid chants from the crowd, PM Modi reiterated BJP’s commitment to integrity, stating, “They can announce a multitude of schemes but can never match the honesty and probity of the BJP dispensations.”
