PM Modi Takes Aim at Congress, Promises Progress for Maharashtra
In a rally in Dhule, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress-led INDIA Bloc of attempting to undermine the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that “no power in the world can restore Article 370” to the region.
Modi criticized the alliance’s approach, alleging it seeks to provoke divisions among castes and communities.
PM Modi on Unity and Caste Politics
Highlighting Congress’s alleged divisive strategies, Modi said, “The Congress wants to pit one caste against another and weaken the unity of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. Since Nehru’s time, the Congress has resisted reservation, and now their ‘yuvraj’ (prince) is working to create caste divisions.” He urged unity with the slogan, “Ek hai, toh safe hai” (if we are united, we are safe).
Modi cautioned against Congress’s “Pakistan agenda” and accused them of speaking “the language of separatists.” He also referred to a recent resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on restoring Article 370, which BJP MLAs opposed.
Criticism of MVA’s Governance
PM Modi criticized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP, comparing it to a “vehicle with no wheels or brakes.” He alleged that the MVA’s focus is on internal power struggles rather than development, saying, “MVA has no intention to work for the development of the state; their only goal is to loot the public.”
Modi emphasized that during the two years of MVA governance, development projects were stalled. However, he credited the Mahayuti (BJP-led alliance) with reviving Maharashtra’s pride and placing it back on the path of progress. “Maharashtra’s progress is assured if Mahayuti is there,” he declared, adding that the Mahayuti manifesto focuses on economic growth, social equality, and security.
Assurance of Development and Support for Women
The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to Maharashtra’s development, emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment. He highlighted the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, which he claimed the Congress ecosystem has opposed and taken to court. Modi warned that if the MVA regains power, they may scrap the scheme, urging women to be cautious.
Modi also referenced a controversial comment by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant regarding BJP’s candidate Shaina NC, urging women to stand against such remarks from MVA leaders.
Modi Praises Maharashtra’s Economic Success
Modi noted Maharashtra’s success in attracting foreign investments, stating that over 50 percent of FDI to India came to Maharashtra in the first three months of this year. He dismissed MVA’s accusations that the BJP is diverting projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat, instead crediting BJP’s policies for the state’s strong investment record.
The PM concluded by emphasizing that Maharashtra’s future lies in the Mahayuti’s roadmap, which he said ensures “Maharashtra’s progress and development.”
