PM Modi Set to Engage Quad & BRICS Leaders at ASEAN Summit

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur from 26–28 October 2025. He will engage with leaders from both the QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) and the BRICS group, including U.S. President Donald Trump and other global counterparts.

Strategic Talks on India-hosted Summits

With India set to host both the Quad and BRICS summits in 2026, Modi will use the ASEAN platform to outline India’s agenda and discuss future directions of multilateral cooperation. The talks are expected to focus on Indo-Pacific security, trade partnerships and structural reforms in global forums.

Balancing Global Groupings

The participation underscores India’s effort to balance its commitments to both the Quad, which is centred on regional security, and BRICS, which focuses on economic collaboration. By taking leadership roles in both, India is positioning itself as a key link between strategic and economic coalitions.
