PM Modi Says FTAs Are Expanding Jobs for Indian Youth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s free trade agreements with around 40 countries are creating new markets for domestic businesses and expanding career opportunities for young Indians. Speaking at the 20th Rozgar Mela on Saturday, Modi said stronger global economic partnerships could help entrepreneurs, workers and startups access new opportunities.
India FTAs Opening New Markets for Businesses
Modi said trade agreements were creating new partnerships for Indian entrepreneurs while providing greater access to overseas markets. He linked India’s expanding trade network with employment and career opportunities for the country’s young workforce.
The Prime Minister also referred to the recently concluded BRICS Summit, saying India wanted cooperation within the grouping to extend beyond governments and involve entrepreneurs, farmers, women and young people more directly.
Over 51,000 Appointment Letters Distributed
During the Rozgar Mela, Modi virtually distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited employees joining various central government ministries and departments.
The recruitment covered departments including Revenue, Railways, Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Financial Services and Defence. With the 20th Rozgar Mela, around 12.75 lakh people have received government appointment letters through the programme.
Modi Highlights India’s Startup Growth
Modi also highlighted India’s position as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, saying entrepreneurship was increasingly spreading beyond major metropolitan centres.
He said nearly half of recognised startups are now based in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, reflecting growing participation by young entrepreneurs from smaller urban centres.
Addressing the new government recruits, Modi urged them to contribute towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 goal and ensure that government decision-making supports innovation, employment creation and easier access to opportunities for citizens.
