
PM Modi Relaunches ₹58,000 Cr Amaravati Projects
On May 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹58,000 crore in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. This significant move marks the revival of the state’s capital city project, which had faced delays in recent years.
The projects encompass the construction of key government institutions, including the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, and residential quarters for judicial officers. Additionally, infrastructure enhancements such as a 320 km transport network with underground utilities and advanced flood management systems were initiated.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized Amaravati’s potential to become a hub for Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, green energy, education, and healthcare. He stated, “Amaravati is not just a city but a force that will transform Andhra Pradesh into a modern state.”

During the event, PM Modi highlighted the central government’s commitment to supporting Andhra Pradesh’s development. He recalled his admiration for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s initiatives in Hyderabad during his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, noting that he had learned a lot from Naidu’s approach to technological advancement.
The Prime Minister also addressed the recent Pahalgam terror attack, expressing solidarity with the victims and asserting India’s strength lies not only in its weapons but also in its unity.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude to PM Modi for his unwavering support in realizing the vision of Amaravati as a world-class capital. He acknowledged the Prime Minister’s role in laying the foundation stone for Amaravati in 2015 and now relaunching the project, reinforcing the state’s commitment to development.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also addressed the gathering, switching from Telugu to English to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack and commend PM Modi’s leadership during challenging times.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration between the central and state governments, aiming to transform Amaravati into a symbol of progress and prosperity for Andhra Pradesh.
