PM Modi Lauds Jaishankar’s Speech on Operation Sindoor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for his address in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, calling it “outstanding” and a strong reflection of India’s diplomatic strength. Modi said the speech sent a powerful message to the world that India will not tolerate terrorism.
Jaishankar Details India’s Diplomatic Strategy
During his address, Jaishankar stated that India’s response after the Pahalgam terror attack was not just military but also diplomatic. He explained that India worked with multiple international partners to isolate the perpetrators of terror. Countries across the world supported India’s position and condemned the April 22 attack.
He stressed that India acted independently, without any pressure or trade-related deals. He clarified that between April 22 and June 17, there was no conversation between Prime Minister Modi and then U.S. President Donald Trump, and no trade deals were involved in the ceasefire process.
Operation Sindoor Seen as a Turning Point
Operation Sindoor was launched as a targeted response to the cross-border attack in Pahalgam. Jaishankar noted that the operation followed a clear doctrine: there will be no talks with terrorism, cross-border terror will be met with force, and India will not be blackmailed by nuclear threats.
According to him, Pakistan was forced to seek a ceasefire under global pressure, as India’s diplomatic and military response made it clear that continued escalation would not be tolerated.
Prime Minister’s Endorsement
PM Modi reinforced that Operation Sindoor marked a strategic shift in India’s defence posture. He emphasized the importance of indigenous defence capabilities, saying weapons made in India have rattled those who support terrorism. He called it a 100% success, both diplomatically and militarily.
Modi also appreciated the consensus in Parliament for holding discussions on the operation, and thanked the opposition for their support.
