PM Modi Invites SCO Members Into India’s Growth Story

At the SCO Summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited member countries to join “India’s journey of development.” He said India’s approach of “reform, perform, transform” reflects not only its domestic priorities but also its growing role in the global economy. Modi highlighted that India seeks partnerships to expand trade, investment, and innovation across the region.

Connectivity as a Foundation

The Prime Minister underlined that the SCO embodies Security, Connectivity, and Opportunity. He pointed to projects such as the Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor as examples of how India is working to strengthen links with Central Asia and beyond. Modi stressed that greater connectivity can create long-term stability and prosperity for all SCO members.

Strategic Autonomy and Cooperation

Reaffirming India’s independent foreign policy, Modi said that ties between India and China should not be shaped by third-party influences. He called upon SCO nations to explore new areas of cooperation, from energy and digital technologies to cultural exchange, underlining India’s commitment to act as a responsible and sovereign partner in regional progress.
