PM Modi Directs Amit Shah to Visit Pahalgam Following Terror Attack

In the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed Union Home Minister Amit Shah to personally visit the site and take full charge of the situation. The move comes amid national outrage and grief over the killing of more than 25 tourists in one of the deadliest civilian attacks in recent years.

Immediate Response from Leadership

Despite being on an official visit abroad, Prime Minister Modi responded swiftly to the incident. In a direct conversation with Amit Shah, he conveyed his deep concern over the attack and stressed the need for immediate action on the ground. The Prime Minister also expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, assuring that the central government would take all necessary steps to restore security and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Amit Shah’s Visit to Srinagar

Acting on the Prime Minister’s directive, Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Srinagar. During his trip, Shah will lead a high-level review meeting with senior security officials, intelligence agencies, and Jammu and Kashmir administration. The objective is to assess the current threat level, identify lapses, and coordinate a strengthened security strategy to prevent future attacks, especially in tourist-sensitive zones.

Condemnation and Assurance

Both Modi and Shah have condemned the incident in the strongest terms. The Prime Minister emphasized that those responsible for this barbaric act will not be spared. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the Valley and providing full support to the bereaved families and the injured.

The Union Home Ministry has already directed additional deployment of security forces in key areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Intelligence inputs are being reviewed to trace the attackers and dismantle any networks involved in aiding or abetting the crime.
