PM Modi Criticizes MVA Infighting, Targets Congress in Maharashtra Rally
With Maharashtra’s state elections around the corner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a pointed critique of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition and Congress during a rally in Dhule on Friday.
Focusing on internal conflicts within the MVA, Modi commented on the alliance’s lack of unity, saying, “There is infighting as to ‘who will sit on the driver’s seat’,” referring to disagreements over the Chief Ministerial face within the coalition.
PM Modi addressed the political instability in Maharashtra over the past five years, marked by changing alliances and government upheavals. Reflecting on the MVA’s tenure, he remarked, “When people like MVA form government, they cause hindrances in every government policy and development.” He noted that Maharashtra experienced such governance issues during the 2.5 years of MVA rule, in contrast to what he called the stability and progress under the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.
Congress Accused of Dividing Communities
During the rally, PM Modi also accused Congress of promoting division within India’s tribal and marginalized communities, a move he linked to the country’s historical partition. “Congress agenda is to create a rift between all the tribal communities of the country,” he said. Modi argued that Congress’s actions threaten unity among Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, calling this division “the biggest conspiracy in India.”
Emphasizing the importance of solidarity, he urged the communities to stay united, saying, “You will stay strong as long as you stay united… ‘Ek hai toh safe hai.'”
Criticism of Congress’s Actions in Jammu & Kashmir
PM Modi also referenced the recent developments in Jammu and Kashmir, where a resolution to restore Article 370 was passed by the legislative assembly. He warned that the Congress and INDIA alliance are pursuing actions that could disrupt the stability of Kashmir, stating, “As soon as the Congress and INDIA alliance got the chance to form a government in J&K, they started their conspiracies against Kashmir.”
PM Modi is set to continue his campaign across Maharashtra, with eight more rallies planned, including another stop in Nashik. The Prime Minister reiterated his belief that only the BJP-led alliance can bring the stability and good governance that Maharashtra needs.
