Sharing Joy at His Residence

At his official residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, PM Modi welcomed schoolchildren, women from self-help groups, and members of diverse communities. He personally received Rakhis tied by them, celebrating the protective promise of the festival. The gathering also included members of the Brahma Kumaris spiritual group, adding to the sense of cultural togetherness.

The event was full of smiles, warm conversations, and a festive spirit, reflecting the values of protection, respect, and affection that Raksha Bandhan represents.

A Festival of Love, Culture, and Protection

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan. It symbolizes the bond between brothers and sisters—where sisters wish for their brothers’ well-being by tying a thread (Rakhi), and brothers promise protection in return. PM Modi’s celebration underscored this message and his connection with people of all ages through a meaningful cultural tradition.
