PM Modi Cancels Europe Visit Amid Operation Sindoor Fallout

In the wake of escalating tensions following India’s Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has canceled his planned three-nation tour to Europe, which included visits to Croatia, Norway, and the Netherlands from May 13 to 17. The decision underscores the government’s focus on national security and regional stability amid the current geopolitical climate.

Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, involved precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation aimed to dismantle terror infrastructure linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

The Prime Minister’s decision to cancel the European tour reflects a shift in diplomatic priorities, placing greater emphasis on addressing immediate security concerns. The respective European governments have been informed of the cancellation, and discussions on rescheduling the visit are expected once the situation stabilizes.
