PM Launches ₹1L Cr Job Scheme with ₹15K for New Workers

In his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), a massive ₹1 lakh crore (₹100,000 crore) employment initiative aimed at supporting both jobseekers and employers across India.

Incentives for First-Time Workers

Under the scheme’s Part A, individuals securing their first private-sector job and earning up to ₹1 lakh per month are eligible to receive ₹15,000 via direct bank transfer. This payment will be made in two installments — the first after six months of continuous employment and the second after twelve months, contingent upon completion of a mandatory financial literacy module.

Employer Support

Part B of the scheme incentivizes employers to create new jobs. Registered establishments hiring additional staff will receive up to ₹3,000 per month per new employee, with support lasting for two years—extended to four years for the manufacturing sector. Employers must demonstrate net staffing growth to qualify.

Massive Scale: Jobs & Timeline

The PM-VBRY aims to generate approximately 3.5 crore (35 million) job opportunities between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027. Nearly 1.92 crore of these positions are expected to be filled by individuals entering the workforce for the first time under the program.

Long-Term Impact

The initiative is designed to formalize employment, encourage skills-based growth, and ease the transition of youth into sustainable careers. By combining worker incentives with employer support, the government aims to reinvigorate the job market and harness India’s demographic potential toward holistic development.
