PCB Cancels T20 World Cup Kit Launch Event
The Pakistan Cricket Board has cancelled a planned special event to unveil the national team’s kit for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The event was scheduled to take place ahead of Pakistan’s ongoing T20I series and was expected to mark the formal launch of the World Cup jersey.
Reason Behind the Decision
According to officials familiar with the matter, the cancellation was due to logistical and scheduling reasons. The PCB did not announce a new date for the kit unveiling and has not indicated whether a scaled-down launch may be held at a later stage.
Participation Not in Doubt
Contrary to speculation on social media, the cancellation of the event is not linked to Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan is set to play its tournament matches in Sri Lanka, as per the agreed hybrid hosting arrangement for the event, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Focus Shifts Back to Cricket
The PCB is expected to unveil the team kit closer to the tournament or through digital platforms. For now, the board’s focus remains on on-field preparations and squad finalisation ahead of the World Cup.
