Pakistan Recall Senior Players For Australia ODIs
Pakistan have announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, with several senior players returning to the side ahead of the 50-over contest.
Pakistan ODI Squad For Australia Series
Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead Pakistan in the ODI series, while Salman Ali Agha has been named vice-captain. The squad includes the return of major names such as Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim.
These players had missed Pakistan’s ODI series against Bangladesh in March. Their return gives Pakistan a more experienced squad as the team prepares for a challenging home series against Australia.
Babar Azam And Shadab Khan Return
The inclusion of Babar Azam and Shadab Khan is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s batting and all-round options. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah also add pace depth alongside captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Pakistan have also included uncapped players Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas and Rohail Nazir. They could make their ODI debuts during the series. Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir have been named as wicketkeeper-batters, with Usman Khan unavailable due to illness.
Australia ODI Series In Pakistan
The three-match series will be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The first ODI will be held in Rawalpindi on May 30, while the second and third matches will take place in Lahore on June 2 and June 4.
Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were not considered for selection as they continue rehabilitation from injuries. The series is important for both teams as they look to build combinations ahead of next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
