Pakistan Navy, Saudi Forces Seize Huge Drug Haul

A major joint operation by the Pakistan Navy and Saudi Arabia’s security forces has led to the seizure of narcotics worth nearly US $972 million in the Arabian Sea. The effort was praised by the U.S. Central Command as a significant contribution to regional maritime security.

Operation Conducted by PNS Yarmook

The Pakistani warship PNS Yarmook took part in the mission under the Combined Maritime Forces Task Force 150. Over 48 hours, naval personnel intercepted and searched two dhows suspected of carrying narcotics bound for international markets.

U.S. Commends Cooperation

The U.S. Central Command commended the coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that the successful seizure showed the value of multinational collaboration in tackling maritime threats.

Smuggling Network Under Investigation

Authorities are now investigating the networks behind the operation to trace the origin and intended recipients of the seized drugs. Officials highlighted that the bust demonstrates both the scale of narcotics trafficking in the Arabian Sea and the continuing need for vigilance in international waters.
