Pakistan Launches Coordinated Attacks on 26 Indian Cities
In an alarming escalation, the Indian government confirmed that Pakistan attempted coordinated strikes on 26 different locations across India overnight. During a press briefing, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated that the attacks were launched late at night and aimed at both military and civilian targets, including critical infrastructure points.
The targeted cities included key defence hubs such as Udhampur and Pathankot in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhuj in Gujarat, and Bhatinda in Punjab. These locations are home to vital military bases, airfields, and logistical command centres, making the attempted strikes a serious breach of India’s national security.
Air Defence Systems Successfully Thwart Attacks
According to defence officials, India’s air defence systems were activated promptly, intercepting multiple incoming drones and aerial threats. In several instances, drones were neutralised mid-air using a combination of surface-to-air missiles and electronic warfare jammers. While some minor damage was reported in civilian areas, there were no major casualties.
The swift response by Indian defence forces prevented what could have been a devastating coordinated aerial assault. Surveillance and tracking systems had reportedly detected suspicious activity near the border in the preceding hours, enabling proactive deployment of countermeasures.
India on High Alert Amid Unprecedented Aggression
This marks one of the largest single-night coordinated attacks attempted by Pakistan in recent years. “Pakistan tried attacking 26 locations, including Udhampur, Pathankot, Bhuj, Bhatinda stations, last night,” stated Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, underscoring the scale and intent behind the aggression.
India has placed all border states on high alert, reinforcing sensitive installations with additional troops and advanced surveillance systems. The government is also evaluating strategic options and has warned of firm retaliatory measures should further violations occur.
As tensions continue to rise, international observers have expressed concern over the possibility of a wider conflict. Diplomatic backchannels remain uncertain, and the situation is being closely monitored by security analysts worldwide.
