Owaisi Slams Pakistan Over IMF Loan, Praises Indian Muslims

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized Pakistan over the alleged misuse of international financial aid and denounced its self-assumed role as the spokesperson of global Muslim interests. Speaking during his visit to Kuwait as part of an Indian parliamentary delegation, Owaisi accused Pakistan of diverting crucial funds away from humanitarian needs towards terrorism and military spending.

IMF Loan Misuse Concerns Raised by Owaisi

Owaisi took sharp aim at Pakistan’s recent $2 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), voicing fears that the money might be channeled into supporting terror groups rather than addressing Pakistan’s social and developmental needs. He argued that instead of using the funds for poverty reduction, polio eradication, or women’s welfare, Pakistan’s military establishment may repurpose the aid to promote instability in the region.

He also demanded Pakistan’s reinstatement on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list to ensure strict oversight of how such international aid is utilized, stating that financial transparency and accountability are critical to regional security.

Indian Muslims More Sincere Than Pakistan: Owaisi

Addressing the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, Owaisi fiercely contested Pakistan’s narrative of being the protector of Muslim interests. “Pakistan can’t take up this issue (of religion) and say that they are Muslims. In India, there is a larger Muslim population, and we (Indian Muslims) are more sincere than them,” he declared.

His comments sought to reaffirm the secular and inclusive identity of Indian Muslims and to rebuke Pakistan’s consistent attempts to use religion as a tool for geopolitical messaging.

Delegation’s Efforts to Counter Misinformation

The Indian delegation to West Asia, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, includes MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The group has been engaging with policymakers in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Algeria to present India’s strong stance against terrorism and refute false propaganda.

Owaisi’s statements during the visit align with the larger mission to project a unified image of India’s secularism and pluralism, especially in international forums where Pakistan has tried to misrepresent India’s internal affairs.

His remarks not only reaffirmed Indian Muslims’ national loyalty but also spotlighted Pakistan’s internal contradictions and its continued reliance on global sympathy despite a history of supporting extremist proxies.
