Owaisi Rejects ‘Martyrdom’ Claim In Delhi Blast Video

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has sharply condemned the video released by Dr Umar un Nabi, the accused in the Delhi Red Fort blast. Owaisi stated that “suicide is haram in Islam” and said any attempt to justify the attack as a martyrdom act is completely unacceptable. He stressed that killing innocent people is forbidden and described the bomber’s justification as “terrorism and nothing else.”

Context Behind the Bomber’s Video

The statement comes after investigators recovered a video from the accused, where he described the attack as a “martyrdom operation.” The explosion near the Red Fort killed several people and injured others, prompting a multi-agency probe into the broader terror module involved. Owaisi dismissed the ideological justification presented in the video and clarified that Islam offers no sanction for suicide attacks or violence targeting civilians.

Questions Raised On Security Gaps

Owaisi also questioned how the terror module responsible for the attack managed to operate despite assurances previously given in Parliament about controlled local threats. He called for accountability from security agencies and underlined the need for stronger preventive mechanisms. His remarks add to growing political debate over the nature of radicalisation and the gaps in intelligence that allowed the attack to occur.
