Over 500 Drones, Missiles Fired at Ukraine
Russia carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine overnight between September 2 and 3, launching more than 500 drones and missiles. Ukrainian authorities confirmed strikes across several central and western regions.
Civilian Infrastructure Damaged
The bombardment caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure. Homes, energy facilities, and rail lines were hit, leaving at least five people injured. Local officials reported dozens of buildings damaged and transportation services temporarily disrupted.
Air Defenses and International Response
Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted the majority of the drones and missiles, though many still reached their targets. Poland scrambled fighter jets to safeguard its airspace during the attack. Ukrainian leaders condemned the strikes and urged for stronger international sanctions and military aid.
