OpenAI Models Come To Amazon Bedrock
AWS and OpenAI have announced an expanded partnership that will bring OpenAI’s latest models to Amazon Bedrock in limited preview. The move will allow enterprise customers to access OpenAI’s frontier AI models through AWS infrastructure, security and governance systems.
OpenAI Models On Amazon Bedrock
Amazon Bedrock will now offer OpenAI models through the same APIs and enterprise controls already used by AWS customers. This means businesses can evaluate and deploy OpenAI models alongside models from Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, Cohere, Amazon and other providers.
AWS said the integration will support access management, encryption, logging, governance and compliance controls. Customers will also be able to apply OpenAI model usage toward existing AWS cloud commitments.
Codex Launches On Amazon Bedrock
OpenAI’s coding agent, Codex, is also being launched on Amazon Bedrock in limited preview. The tool is designed to help software teams write, refactor and explain code, generate tests and automate development workflows.
Enterprise users will be able to access Codex through the Bedrock API, Codex CLI, desktop app and Visual Studio Code extension. The service will use AWS credentials and run inference through Amazon Bedrock infrastructure.
AWS And OpenAI Expand AI Partnership
AWS has also introduced Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents powered by OpenAI. The service is designed to help companies build production-ready AI agents using OpenAI models while retaining AWS security, identity, audit and infrastructure controls.
The partnership signals deeper cooperation between AWS and OpenAI as enterprises demand advanced AI models within trusted cloud environments. AWS said more OpenAI capabilities are expected to come to Bedrock as the collaboration expands.
