NSA Doval and US Counterpart Discuss Indo-Pacific Security, Bolster Bilateral Ties
In a pivotal diplomatic conversation, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval engaged in discussions with his US counterpart, NSA Jake Sullivan, focusing on regional security and strategic stability, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
The dialogue reflects the increasingly robust partnership between the two nations, united by democratic principles and converging global interests, according to a White House statement.
“Progress in Bilateral Partnership”
The two leaders “welcomed progress in the bilateral partnership, including through the upcoming Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) Intersessional and Indian Ocean Dialogue.” Their discussions also covered future collaborations in areas such as clean energy supply chains and defence cooperation, signifying their shared commitment to addressing global challenges through deepened ties.
Expanding the Global Strategic Partnership
The India-US partnership has steadily evolved into a comprehensive “global strategic partnership,” with expanding cooperation across various sectors, including defence, technology, cybersecurity, and civil nuclear energy. Earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden met during the Quad Summit, reaffirming their countries’ commitment to advancing mutual interests in the Indo-Pacific and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Shared Vision Across Sectors
The India-US alliance now spans diverse sectors such as trade, technology, health, and agriculture. People-to-people exchanges, coupled with bipartisan support in both countries, continue to reinforce this dynamic partnership, highlighting India and the United States’ joint efforts to navigate complex global challenges and work towards regional stability.
