Noida Man Arrested Over Mumbai ‘Human Bomb’ Threat
Mumbai Police arrested 50-year-old Ashwin Kumar Supra from Noida after a bomb threat was sent to the Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline. The message claimed 34 vehicles in Mumbai had been fitted with “human bombs” by 14 Pakistani terrorists and that 400 kg of RDX would be used to trigger explosions. The threat coincided with Ganesh Visarjan security preparations.
Investigation and Arrest
The Crime Branch traced the message using mobile data and SIM details, leading to Supra’s arrest. Investigators believe the threat was a hoax but are continuing a detailed probe. The phone and SIM card used to send the message have been seized.
Security Measures in Mumbai
Despite early signs of the threat being false, security was tightened across Mumbai. Police conducted combing operations and stepped up surveillance in crowded festival zones to ensure public safety.
Appeal to Citizens
Authorities urged the public not to panic or spread rumors. Citizens were asked to immediately report suspicious activity or unattended vehicles to the police.
