Noida International Airport Receives DGCA Licence
Noida International Airport has received its aerodrome licence from India’s aviation regulator, marking a key milestone for the upcoming airport in Uttar Pradesh. The approval clears the way for commercial flight operations once the remaining operational and infrastructure preparations are completed ahead of the airport’s launch.
DGCA Grants Aerodrome Licence To Noida Airport
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued the aerodrome licence to Noida International Airport, confirming that the facility meets the regulatory requirements needed to operate as a commercial airport. The licence allows the airport to begin preparations for handling scheduled passenger and cargo flights.
Authorities said the certification followed a detailed inspection of the airport’s infrastructure, safety systems, operational procedures, and compliance with national aviation standards. The licence is an important regulatory step before the airport can start regular flight operations.
Noida International Airport Nears Operational Launch
The airport, located in Jewar in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district, is expected to become one of India’s major aviation hubs. Once operational, it will serve the National Capital Region and is planned to ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Developers have stated that the first phase of the airport will include a runway and passenger terminal capable of handling millions of passengers annually. The project is designed for phased expansion, with multiple runways and larger terminal capacity planned in later stages.
Major Infrastructure Boost For NCR Aviation Capacity
Noida International Airport is being developed as a large greenfield airport aimed at improving connectivity across northern India. The project is expected to enhance regional transport links and strengthen aviation infrastructure in the National Capital Region.
Officials have said the airport will support passenger travel, cargo movement, and logistics operations. Once operational, it is expected to significantly increase the region’s aviation capacity while supporting economic and infrastructure development in surrounding areas.
