Ninth Accused in Red Fort Blast Sent to NIA Custody
A Delhi court has sent the ninth accused in the Red Fort blast case to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) till December 26, allowing investigators more time to question him in connection with the incident. The accused was produced before the court after being arrested by the NIA as part of its ongoing probe into the blast near the Red Fort complex.
Court Grants Custodial Interrogation
The court accepted the NIA’s plea seeking custodial interrogation, noting that further questioning was required to establish the accused’s role and links to other suspects already arrested in the case. The agency told the court that the accused was allegedly in contact with key individuals involved in the conspiracy and that his custodial questioning could help uncover additional details about planning, logistics and coordination.
Ongoing Investigation
The Red Fort blast is being investigated as a serious security incident, with the NIA examining possible terror links, funding routes and communication networks. Multiple arrests have been made so far, and searches have been conducted at several locations as investigators work to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the blast.
Next Steps in the Case
Officials said the investigation is at a crucial stage, with agencies focusing on identifying all those involved and preventing any further threats. The accused will remain in NIA custody until December 26, after which the agency is expected to seek further directions from the court based on the progress of the investigation.
