NIA Raids Multiple Sites in Kashmir in Red Fort Blast Probe
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out coordinated searches across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday as part of its investigation into the November 10 car explosion outside Delhi’s Red Fort. Eight locations were searched simultaneously in Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts.
Homes of Key Suspects Searched
Search teams examined the residences of several individuals linked to the case, including Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather in Kulgam, Dr Muzamil Shakeel Ganai in Pulwama, cleric Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian and Jasir Bilal Wani. These suspects are believed to be part of a “white-collar” terror network allegedly connected to the planning of the blast.
Probe Expands Beyond Kashmir
In a parallel operation, the NIA also searched the Lucknow residence of Dr Shaheen Shahid, a former medical college faculty member. She has been arrested for suspected involvement in terror funding and links to the module being investigated for the Red Fort incident.
Agency Steps Up Counter-Terror Operations
Officials said the raids were aimed at recovering digital evidence, communication records and materials that could help identify the wider network behind the blast. The searches mark an escalation in efforts to uncover financing channels and cross-state links tied to the terror module.
