NIA Arrests 7th Suspect In Delhi Red Fort Blast Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Soyab, a 25-year-old resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, making him the seventh accused in the probe into the November 10 Red Fort blast in Delhi. Investigators say he played a key role in providing shelter and logistical assistance to the main accused before the attack.
Accused Linked To Umar Un Nabi
According to the NIA, Soyab helped Umar Un Nabi, the prime suspect in the blast case, by arranging accommodation at his sister-in-law’s residence in Haryana and assisting in his movement across locations. Officials allege he knowingly harboured the terrorist despite being aware of Nabi’s involvement in extremist activities.
Details Of The Blast And Investigation
The explosion was triggered using an explosive-laden vehicle parked near the Red Fort, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. The attack is believed to be part of a wider terror network functioning across several states. With Soyab’s arrest, the total number of detained individuals has risen to seven, including medical professionals and aides suspected of supporting the module.
Probe Expands Across States
The NIA says the arrest highlights the importance of dismantling every layer of support provided to the attackers, including shelter, transport and logistical backing. More raids and interrogations are expected as the agency works to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
