NHAI Creates Four Guinness Records in Andhra Pradesh

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has created four Guinness World Records during the construction of a major highway project in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant achievement in India’s infrastructure sector.

Record-Breaking Highway Work

The records were achieved on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor. NHAI successfully completed the longest continuous laying of bituminous concrete in 24 hours, along with the highest quantity of bituminous concrete laid continuously within a single day. These milestones were achieved through coordinated efforts involving advanced machinery, uninterrupted material supply, and round-the-clock execution.

In addition, NHAI set two more records for the longest continuous paving stretch and the highest volume of bituminous concrete laid over an extended continuous operation. The achievements surpassed previous global benchmarks recognised by Guinness World Records.

Boost to Infrastructure Development

Officials said the records reflect improved planning, faster execution, and enhanced construction capabilities in national highway projects. The economic corridor is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and support economic growth across Andhra Pradesh.

The achievement is being seen as a milestone for India’s road construction sector and a demonstration of its growing scale and efficiency.
