Netflix Sends Message To Subscribers After Deal Announcement
Netflix sent a late-night email to subscribers saying that “nothing is changing today”, after news of its deal to acquire Warner Bros created confusion among users. The company said the announcement does not affect accounts, pricing or content in the short term.
Services Will Continue Separately For Now
Netflix explained that both services will continue to operate as usual while the acquisition goes through regulatory and shareholder approvals. Full integration is expected to take 12 to 18 months, and subscribers can continue watching content without any change.
The platform said existing plans, app features and profiles will remain the same during this period.
Reassurance Aimed At Avoiding Panic
Some users had expressed concerns about possible price hikes, removal of shows or service disruptions. Netflix said the message was sent to reassure customers and prevent unnecessary cancellations.
The company also noted that emails and notifications were sent to ensure that subscribers did not assume immediate changes were happening.
Long-Term Questions Still Open
Netflix did not give details about future plans, including whether content libraries will be merged or if subscription prices will change after integration. Analysts said more information is likely once regulatory reviews begin.
Netflix currently has more than 300 million paid subscribers worldwide across over 190 countries.
