Netanyahu Says ‘There’ll Be No Palestinian State’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on September 11, 2025, declared that there will be no Palestinian state during a signing ceremony for a major West Bank settlement expansion project in Ma’ale Adumim. He said: “We are going to fulfil our promise that there will be no Palestinian state. This place belongs to us.”

Plan For Expansion

The event also marked the approval of settlement expansion in the E1 area, which includes building thousands of new housing units. Netanyahu pledged to double the population of Ma’ale Adumim.

Territorial And Political Implications

The E1 expansion would connect Ma’ale Adumim with Jerusalem, effectively cutting off parts of the West Bank from East Jerusalem. Critics say this move undermines the possibility of a contiguous Palestinian territory, hurting prospects for a two-state solution. International law and many governments consider settlements in the occupied West Bank illegal.

International And Regional Reaction

Netanyahu’s remarks and the approval of the settlement plan have drawn strong criticism from many countries and human rights organizations. Some Western governments oppose expanding West Bank settlements and warn the move could damage Israel’s diplomatic relations.
