Netanyahu Says Iran Regime Change Is Uncertain

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he cannot say with certainty whether the Iranian people will overthrow the current regime, even as Israel continues to argue that its military campaign has weakened Tehran’s leadership and security apparatus. His remarks came during a press conference in which he also issued a warning to Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Netanyahu Comments On Iran Regime Change

Netanyahu said Israel and the United States could create conditions that may make internal political change possible in Iran, but added that the final outcome would depend on the Iranian people themselves. He acknowledged that regime collapse is not guaranteed and indicated that outside military pressure alone may not be enough to bring down the ruling system in Tehran.

Netanyahu Warns Mojtaba Khamenei

During the same remarks, Netanyahu made it clear that Israel would not offer protection or safety guarantees to Iranian leaders it sees as responsible for attacks against Israel. His comments were widely interpreted as a threat directed at Mojtaba Khamenei, who has taken over after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The statement added to already high tensions between Israel and Iran as the conflict continues to expand.

Iran Conflict Keeps Region On Edge

The comments come at a time when the war has already caused major damage inside Iran and increased uncertainty across the region. Israeli officials have increasingly framed the conflict not only as a military operation but also as an effort to weaken the institutions that keep the Iranian regime in power. At the same time, Netanyahu’s admission that regime change may not happen shows that even Israel’s leadership remains cautious about predicting a political outcome inside Iran. The latest remarks are likely to sharpen focus on whether the conflict will remain military or evolve into a wider struggle over Iran’s future leadership.
