Neha Singh Rathore Booked for Remarks on Pahalgam Attack
Bhojpuri folk singer and political satirist Neha Singh Rathore has been booked under serious charges following her controversial social media posts related to the Pahalgam terror attack. The case, registered at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, accuses her of statements that could incite communal tensions and harm national integrity.
The complaint filed against her alleges that Rathore’s posts on platform X (formerly Twitter) were provocative and appeared to target a specific religious community. According to the police, her remarks were considered capable of disturbing public order and potentially endangering India’s sovereignty. The FIR has invoked multiple sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as well as provisions of the Information Technology Act.

Rathore’s social media posts reportedly questioned the government’s handling of the Pahalgam attack, implying that the incident might be exploited for political gains ahead of the upcoming elections. In a response posted on her official X account, Rathore stated, “An FIR has been filed against me in Lucknow… Can a lawyer help me? I don’t have money to pay the lawyer’s fees.” She also emphasized her family’s legacy of service in the Indian Army and paramilitary forces, reaffirming her commitment to national values.
