Musk Launches “America Party” to Break U.S. One‑Party System
Elon Musk has officially announced the launch of a new political force in the United States: the America Party. Frustrated with what he described as a “one-party system” that thrives on “waste and graft,” Musk’s declaration signals a bold entry into the political landscape as he vows to challenge both traditional parties.
America Party
The announcement came via his social media platform X, where Musk posted the results of a poll conducted on Independence Day. The poll showed that 65.4% of respondents supported the creation of a third political party. Following this, Musk declared:
“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!”
He further emphasized:
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.”
He framed the America Party as a movement to “give you back your freedom,” portraying it as a corrective force in a political system that, in his view, has become unaccountable.
Uniparty System
Musk likened his strategy to an ancient battlefield tactic:
“The way we’re going to crack the uniparty system is by using a variant of how Epaminondas shattered the myth of Spartan invincibility at Leuctra: Extremely concentrated force at a precise location on the battlefield.”
He has positioned the America Party as a disciplined and focused intervention, aiming to disrupt establishment strongholds during the primaries and challenge entrenched interests that have controlled government spending.
Musk vs Trump
Musk’s political shift comes in the wake of a deepening feud with Donald Trump. The former president had championed a massive tax-and-spend package that recently cleared the Senate, a move Musk sharply opposed. The clash escalated after Trump reportedly threatened Musk with retaliatory measures, including the cancellation of government contracts and even deportation.
Musk responded defiantly:
“They will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”
The split marks a sharp turn in Musk’s relationship with the Republican establishment. Once aligned with Trump-era fiscal priorities, Musk now accuses the GOP of betraying its own principles on economic responsibility.
